The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia and the Nordic Council of Ministers´ Office in Latvia organized a high-level roundtable “1991-2016 and the Way Ahead” on 22 August, 2016.
On 2 August, 2016, 9 most promising cleantech innovations from Latvia with global business potential were selected to participate in final pitching show. Only 3 winning teams where chosen to star on stage in ClimateLaunchpad European Finals in Tallinn!
The LAMPA conversation festival was taking place from July 1 – 2 in Cēsis castle park. Trust, sustainability and diversity – these three principles are at the heart of the LAMPA conversation festival. Many organizations and activists was involved in its creation, cooking up festival events and offering financial support. Also the Nordic Council of Ministers’ Office in Latvia in cooperation with Nordic Embassies in Latvia and other cooperation partners - a comics art magazin kuš! and society “Latvian Autism center”, offered several interesting events. In Workshop-tent on July 1 from 16:00 -17:45 we invited to participate in simulation - to build a future house, but on July 2 from 14:00-15:45 in the workshop with finnish artist Emmi Valve, from 16:00-17:30 on the stage DOTS, Nordic mayors met with Latvia’s mayors and discussed smart and sustainable cities.
The Nordic Council of Ministers’ Office in Latvia and the Latvian Institute of International Affairs mark the Nordic – Baltic cooperation’s 25th anniversary and organised a public discussion NORDIC – BALTIC COOPERATION. From May 12 till June 12 everyone is welcome to explore the Tempora Mutantur anniversary exhibition of Kutikuti at NOASS. In July the exhibition will move into Latvia's regions - Cesis, Daugavpils and Liepaja.
On May 11,2016, 18:00 in the Wooden renovation center “Wooden Riga” (12 Krasotaju Street) was an opportunity to meet and hear Eivør. During the Artis-talk also latvian musician Laima Jansone performed together with Eivør.
From April 26 untill 28, 2016, the Finnish poet Heli Laaksonen and Estonian poet Leelo Tungal, together with the Latvian poet and publisher Inese Zandere and poet and translator Guntars Godiņš will tour around Latvia to meet readers in libraries and schools in small towns in Latvia - in Limbaži, Zvejnieksciems, Kuldīga, Talsi and Saldus as well as in the Riga. A wider audience are invited to the event in Riga taking place on 27 April, 18.00 at the premises of Birojnīca (Bergs Bazaar).
