NEW CALL: CREATIVE INDUSTRIES - UNLOCKING THE ENTREPRENEURIAL POTENTIAL

Norden - the Creative powerhouse

The Nordic Innovation Centre is launching a second call for proposal within the field of Creative Industries, investing NOK 10 millions (1,2 million Euros) in Nordic projects developing concrete actions and innovative policies for the Nordic Creative Industries.
Take the opportunity to unlock the potentials of the Nordic Creative Industries!

The Nordic Innovation Centre invites Nordic and Baltic actors from industry and industry federations, innovation institutes, research institutions and other relevant organisations to submit project proposals within the following four measures:

  1. Financing the Creative Industries
    • Improve access to capital 
    • Strengthening the Creative Clusters 
  2. Intellectual Property Rights
    • Utilizing IPRs for value creation 
    • Good practice of business models and IPR 
  3. Design – a Nordic competitive advantage
    • Nordic-Baltic cooperation, a high potential interaction 
    • Strategic actions for enhancing design in the industry
  4. Digital Interactive Industry
    • Cross-disciplinary initiatives on emerging markets
    • Governmental strategies for growth of the games industry

Baltic stakeholders are particular invited to be part of projects within measure 3 of the call: Design – Nordic competitive advantage, but all measures are of course open for interesting Nordic-Baltic cooperations as long as the project consortium encompass the minimum of three Nordic countries.

Projects are expected to develop concrete actions for the industry and specific recommendations for new policy measures.

INVITATION TO A PRESS CONFERENCE – PRESENTATION ABOUT THE NEW NGO GRANT PROGRAM OF THE NORDIC COUNCIL OF MINISTERS

On Friday, 6th of October, 2006 all media representatives are invited to attend a press conference – presentation about the new spacious grant program of the Nordic Council of Ministers that is intended for cross-border cooperation of NGOs and development of civil society.

PRESENTATION OF THE BOOK "THE PASTOR" BY HANNE ØRSTAVIK

The book “The Pastor” by Norwegian writer Hanne Ørstavik (b. 1969) will be launched in October 3, at 6 p.m. at the Nordic Council of Ministers' Office in Latvia in the presence of the author himself.

The event is being organized by the publishing house “Atēna” and the Nordic Council of Ministers’ Office in Latvia. The book “The Pastor“ is the first book by Hanne Ørstavik translated to Latvian. The book “The Pastor” in 2004 got the Brage Prize for Best Norwegian Novel.
