Q: Can activities taking place between the application deadline and the decision be financed from the programme?
A: No, activities cannot be financed post factum.
Q: Is the number of participants per project limited?
A: No, it is not. However, the number of group members will be evaluated against the stated objectives of each project.
Q: Is there a maximum number of days that may be granted for study trips, internships etc.?
A: No, the length of stay has no formal limitation. However, upon taking the decision the management group and decision makers will assess whether the duration of activities is reasonable and adequate for the stated objectives of the programme.
Q: It is said in the guidelines that accommodation and per diems combined may not exceed DKK 800 from the programme. What if it is not enough in the Nordic countries?
A: The daily allowance or the so-called per diem may not exceed the officially stated rates in each applicant’s country. The DKK 800 from the programme would cover up to 70% of these costs. If, due to this restriction, the applicants’ co-financing in this budget line considerably exceeds the required 30%, it may be compensated in other budget lines. Te total co-financing rate, however, must constitute 30% at the minimum.
Q: It is said in the guidelines that “the programme is open for applications by the actors in Nordic and Baltic small and medium-size enterprises (SMEs), including one-man businesses, with special focus on creative and innovative industries”. Can SMEs of other, traditional industries apply?
A: Yes, they can apply and receive financing, but the priority will be given to the mentioned industries. It should be noted, however, that the interpretation of “innovative industries” is sufficiently wide to include also innovative approaches and products arising from the so-called “traditional” industries.
Q: What is meant by the “government officials in public authorities working on business framework conditions”?
A: These can include, e.g., departments of governmental ministries working with the promotion and fostering of innovation, as well as chambers of commerce, trade councils etc.
Q: According to the guidelines, “in special cases, the costs of expert participation in network meetings may be covered from the programme”. What does it mean?
A: If properly substantiated, participation of experts in project’s activities can be financed from the program (eligible costs: travel, insurance, accommodation, BUT no fee)
Q: May the funding cover meals/coffee breaks during network projects, for example, seminars etc.?
A: Yes, but only at the expense of participants’ daily allowance (per diems).
Q: If the financing has been granted but some of the names on the participant list have been changed - are we still eligible to carry out the project?
A: If the number of people in the group remains the same, the project can be carried out. However, a letter of explanation for these changes should be sent to the management body for information.
Q: If certain people or partners can no longer take part in the project, may the project still be carried out?
A: If the stated objectives can still be reached, the project may take place. However, the reduced number of participants will affect the actual eligible costs of the project that can be financed (up to 70%) from the programme.
Q: Being on a study trip/internship in a Nordic country, may I get paid from the host?
A: No, that would be in contradiction to the aims of the programme. The host contributes with their time but no direct financial burden is requested.
Q: During a group visit, may certain members of the group stay for a shorter or longer time than the rest?
A: Yes.
Q: What is the main difference between a networking project and a group visit?
A: In a group visit, a group from, e.g., a Baltic country visits at least two Nordic countries. In a networking project, all the involved partners (NB 2+1 or 1+2) travel away for a joint meeting in another Nordic or Baltic country.
