EXHIBITION “DUST AND LIGHT” BY THE LATVIAN ARTIST LAURA FELDBERGA IN COPENHAGEN

A new exhibition “Dust and Light” by the Latvian Artist Laura Feldberga opened in Copenhagen on the 1st of September at the Gallery of the Nordic Council of Ministers (Store Strandsgæde 18).

New installations of old furniture and items from daily life supplemented with different materials – sand, glass, saw sand, stones etc. will be created especially for this exhibition.

The exhibition reflects ideas and experience gained while Laura worked at the Residence in Riklundgård, Saxnäs (North Sweden). The opportunity to work at this residence was supported by the Nordic Council of Ministers within the grant program „Baltic Sleipnir”.

Laura Feldberga is a graphic artist by education but mainly works with installations and nature objects. The artist experiments with different materials covering and involving space in her artworks. The emotional content of the objects and installations is connected with the materiality of art pieces. Used items from daily life and materials combined in an unusual way help to create associations, atmosphere and flair.

The exhibition closes on the 30th of September, 2005.
