EVERY HIGH SCHOOL IN LATVIA RECEIVES A BOOK “HISTORY OF NORDIC COUNTRIES”

Starting the new school year, the Nordic Council of Ministers’ Office in Latvia will donate to each and every of 383 high schools in Latvia a volume of a book “History of Nordic Countries”.

This newly published book in Latvian will serve as a good information source for teachers and students in the learning process about our neighbouring countries – Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark.

The “History of Nordic Countries” is written by three Finnish historians - Sepo Hentile, Kristian Krecl and Panu Pulma, who have gathered information on historical processes from the Viking era to modern times.

Two events will take place within short – a presentation of the book on Tuesday, the 13th of September at 6:00 pm at the Nordic Council of Ministers’ Office in Latvia and on Tuesday, the 20th of September at 2:00 pm the books will be handed to 38 representatives from Latvian School boards for further distribution to the high schools in their city or district.
