A series of webinars "FUTURE CREATIVE CITIES" are organized in partnership with NGO "Culturelab" and EUNIC-Europe's network of national cultural institutes. The objective of these webinars is to enhance discussions and provide guidance for the municipal leaders in Latvia during the preparation process for the title of the European Capital of Culture 2027 in order to prepare high quality ECoC programmes, reflecting and combining European values and uniqueness of cities, contributing to the urban development of candidate cities and using the potential of culture and creativity.
Three webinars are planned in Spring 2021:
On April 13 the webinar “Cultural planning for Cultural places” is organized by the Danish Cultural Institute in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania;
On April 23 the webinar “Artistic creation in public spaces. Experience of Marseille - European Capital of Culture 2013" is organized by the French Institute in Latvia. Registration until April 23 https://bit.ly/3dSoHdK
On May 11 the webinar “Methods of Urban planning: towards a smarter and more sustainable society” is organized by the Goethe Institute and the Nordic Council of Ministers' Office in Latvia. Registration until May11 https://bit.ly/2QkdaLY
Nordic experience will be provided by United Future Lab Norway - an initiative within the municipality of Aalesund. United Future Lab Norway is part of the UN's smart city program United for Smart Sustainable Cities implementation program with the main objective to accelerate the development of smart and sustainable cities and communities, and contribute to achieving the UN’s sustainability goals by 2030. The lab facilitates a closer collaboration between public actors, businesses and academia through projects with a focus on smart and sustainable development. The presentation “Agenda 2030 – Action now with United Future Lab Norway” by Marielle Furnes Mannseth, CEO of United Future Lab Norway and Dr. Anne-Lise Sagen Major, Strategic futurist in the Ålesund municipality will take place on May 11, 2021 at 14:00 (EET).
