In the first application round of the Nordic-Baltic Mobility and Network Programme for Business and Industry, participants from Latvia were the most keen to apply.
All in all, 27 applications have been supported: 15 from Latvia, 5 from Denmark, 3 from Estonia and Lithuania each, and 1 from Sweden. The total sum of the allotment amounts to DKK 1 140 600.
Four of the supported projects are individual study trips while the rest consists of group visits and networking projects. The grantees include business incubators, business associations and companies in the areas of information and communication technologies, electronics and electrical engineering, design, advertising, sustainable fashion, film industry, translation and language teaching, industrial iron and steel casting, renewable energy production and consulting, and sustainable polymer technology.

The programme is established for the period 2009-2013 to promote and strengthen economic cooperation, entrepreneurship and innovation opportunities in the NB8 countries (Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway and Sweden) with the aim to increase the global competitive power of the region. The program is administered by the Nordic Council of Ministers’ Office in Latvia.
