The autumn in Talsi Region in Latvia will be very special this year. From September 22 until the end of November various Nordic cultural and educational events will take place within “Nordic Autumn” thus continuing the concept of the joint Nordic cultural campaign like “Nordic Spring” which took place in Riga earlier this year.
During two months everyone in Talsi is offered a chance to learn about the five Nordic countries – Denmark, Norway, Finland, Sweden and Iceland by participating in activities offered by “Nordic Autumn”. Different exhibitions, book presentations, film screenings, contests for children are included in the program.
Each Nordic country has two weeks for their activities. First two weeks starting with the opening of the “Nordic Autumn in Talsi” are dedicated to Norwegian culture. All events are free of charge!
The opening of the “Nordic Autumn in Talsi” takes place on Thursday, 22nd September at 11:00 at the International Collaboration Centre “Eiromaja” (Kr.Valdemara 17a, Talsi). Mr. Janis Matulis, Manager of Talsi Regional Nordic Centre and Mr Aivars Lacarus, the Mayor of Talsi will make the welcoming speech. Ambassadors from Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Finland as well as the Director of the NCM Office in Latvia will participate.
The Nordic Autumn is organized by the Nordic Centre of Talsi region, International Collaboration Centre “Eiromaja”, the Nordic Council of Ministers’ Office in Latvia and the Royal Danish Embassy, the Embassy of Finland, the Royal Norwegian Embassy, the Embassy of Sweden, as well as Consulate-General of Iceland.
